porcelain crowns

a realistic restoration

When 360-degree crowns are required to correct decay or replace amalgam fillings, porcelain is the material of choice from both the functional and aesthetic viewpoint.

Ongoing advancements in porcelain dental restorations offer more strength, durability and tooth-likeness than ever before. Custom-made to order by a dental ceramist, we can get very realistic results that mimic or enhance your natural smile.

In placing a porcelain crown, we work first to establish the bite and then to build the teeth to that position. We then:
  • Remove any decay or fillings.
  • Create a mold of your teeth to send to the laboratory.
  • Place a temporary crown while the porcelain one is being fabricated.
  • In a second appointment, we will place the porcelain crown, ensuring a proper fit and natural bite position.
You will care for a porcelain crown just like your own teeth – daily brushing and flossing, good nutrition and regular dental care.
